Options Community Services is seeking a passionate and dedicated youth to join our team for the Canada
Summer Jobs 2024 program. This is a temporary full-time position dependent on funding.

As a Child and Youth worker, you will play a key role in creating a fun and engaging environment for children,
organizing various activities, and ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the summer camp.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Planning and facilitating a variety of age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games,

and educational projects, to keep children entertained and engaged.
- Preparing and distributing snacks and meals for children, ensuring adherence to dietary restrictions

and promoting healthy eating habits.
- Coordinating and accompanying children on exciting field trips and outings in the community, ensuring

their safety and providing a positive and educational experience.
- Maintaining a safe and secure environment for all children during camp hours, following established

safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Regularly communicating with parents/guardians regarding their child's activities, progress, and any

relevant information, fostering a positive relationship with families.
- Working collaboratively with other camp staff to create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere,

contributing to a positive team dynamic.
- Keeping accurate records of daily activities, attendance, and incidents, and submit reports as required.

This role will require the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector
Check by the Ministry of Justice. This position will be paid at an hourly rate of $16.75.

**Eligibility Requirement**:
To be eligible, youth must:

- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred

under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in

Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
