**The Opportunity**

The City of St. Albert is recruiting for two (2) individuals to join our Recreation and Parks department as a Casual Service Technician.

Reporting to the Recreation Infrastructure Coordinator, this position will be responsible for assisting with general maintenance, repair and upkeep of recreational facilities and equipment, including seasonal outdoor and indoor aquatics-related equipment and processes such as water chemistry or chemical-feed systems and building operational machinery such as heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and plumbing.

The key responsibilities will include:

- Conduct regular checks (daily, weekly, monthly) on facilities including structural, mechanical, and aquatic equipment and according to required schedule.
- Minor tasks may include general building repair/maintenance such as painting, carpentry, changing lightbulbs, plumbing, replacing filters.
- Assists with ensuring the facilities are operated according to building standards and regulations and guidelines for health and safety and Alberta Health Services.

The individual we are looking for has demonstrated mechanical aptitude, good communication and teamwork skills, and wants to contribute to a team passionate about creating great patron experiences.

**Qualifications**
- A High School diploma with some Building Maintenance related experience with plumbing, HVAC, pool operations, mechanical control, and security systems.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office programs,
- A valid Class 5 Drivers License and a personal vehicle for work use is required.
- Experience working in an aquatic environment and a Swimming Pool Operator Level 1 is an asset.

**Hours of Work**

This position requires flexibility to accommodate day, evening, and weekend shifts, up to 40 hours per week. This position may also participate in an 24/7 on-call support program.

**Compensation**

Starting at $20.28 - $24.70 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
