We are looking for a motivated Settlement Outreach Worker to join our BC Settlement and Integration Program (BCSIS) team
**POSITION FUNCTION**:
Under the supervision of the Refugee Settlement and Integration Program Manager, the
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Humanities, or Counselling or High School completion and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and life experience.
- Some experience (1-2 yr.) in social service and group facilitation; and proven experience with establishing professional boundaries with clients.
- Working knowledge of temporary foreign workers and/or international student experiences. Empathetic listening and service linking techniques.
- Knowledge relating to a specific ethnocultural minority community and the community resources that are available for clients.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential). Working knowledge of standard office equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of English and working knowledge of another language (Farsi/Dari preferred).
- Strong administrative skills.
- Experience with group facilitation and advocacy.
- Ability to develop and deliver workshops (in person and virtual).
- Knowledge working with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**HOURS: 35 hours per week**
This position is based in our Boundary (2 days) and Highgate (3 days) offices. It is a contract position to March 31, 2024 with an opportunity for renewal depending on funding availability.
**BENEFITS**:
- A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week_.
