Dance Teacher

Viva Musica/ Musekids Dansica Academy of Performing Arts has been serving the Calgary community since 2006. We are looking to add a ballet, jazz and musical theatre teacher to our excellent team
- Choreograph and lead during classes and teach various dance types to children from 3 years old to teenagers
- Must understand how to work with young children
- Ability to manage lesson planning
- Performance experience as a soloist or group performance choreography
- Knowledge of well-known musicals and musical theatre performances, and the ability to adapt these into performance education
- Choreographing experience for performances
- Excellent communication with the academy artistic director, fellow colleagues at the front desk, and be approachable to parents about student's progress in class

**Schedule**:
Thursdays, additionally Wednesdays and Saturdays.

This position is part time contract for one-two days a week. It will be covering a maternity leave teacher for the year, but is available to build your own clientele and handle your own classes in the future. Teaching starts January 2025, and 8 hours of training are available in December 2024 to shadow and pick up from the current teacher.
