**Position Summary**:
Supports the Regional Director, Human Resources with the management of day to day Human Resource services for Gordon Food Service (GFS) division. Coordinates best practices in employee relations, compensation, training and development, benefits, recruitment, succession planning and leadership development along with building other effective tools needed by GFS management.

**Essential Functions & responsibilities**:

- Recruiting and Onboarding _
- Working with the Regional HR Director and division leadership, develop and maintain an HR/hiring plan to ensure the division has the employees needed when required
- Manage all aspects of the onboarding and orientation process for new hires and managers.
- Partner with the Learning & Organizational Development specialist to provide manager interview skills training as required.
- Maintaining the GFS Corporate Culture _
- Performance Management and Employee Relations.
- Educates and consults leadership on the Performance Management process, understands and leverages the Workday Talent Management Suite, coaches employees and managers on employee relations performance, practice or policy issues, promotes the open door policy.
- Responds to, investigates and determines course of action for complaints from GFS employees or others in regards to Gordon Food Service.
- Works directly with the Regional HR Director on any Director level employment relations matters and/or organizational issues.
- Learning and Development _
- Educates and assists leaders on the GFS Leadership Development initiatives.
- Facilitates training and monitors required leadership training and development for completion.
- Monitors effectiveness of training by periodically auditing employee knowledge.
- Reviews and provides feedback to Share Services HR about training materials utilized.
- Utilizes Workday Talent Management to manage learning and development activities.
- Compensation and Benefits _
- Understands GFS compensation practices and policies and ensures leaders understand how to properly implement.
- Collaborates with and assists the Regional HR Director with the process for annual compensation changes and bonus payouts.
- Plans and supports benefits enrollment processes as well as educating employees and leaders on GFS retirement plans, benefits and wellness initiatives.
- Works directly with the Regional HR Director on any Director level compensation changes.
- Diversity Equity and Inclusion _
- Understands and promotes GFS DEI Vision and Guiding Principles.
- Implements location specific strategies to support the success of the overall DEI strategy
- Absence Management _
- Supports the administration of Workers Compensation (where applicable), short and long term disability and other various benefits using applicable software to manage processes.
- Employee Events Coordination _
- Plan and implement employee events that perpetuate Gordon Food Service Culture
- Manages Team _
- Interviews, hires, trains, and retains HR staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiates follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Regional HR Director when appropriate for the department.
- Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and serves as a role model and resource to them
- Develops and manages capital and operational budget for the department.
- Other Duties and Assignments _
- Assists the Regional HR Director with providing insights on how to interpret HR metrics such as turnover, new hires, diversity and other various items.
- May perform administrative functions related to general human resources responsibilities to include processing employment insurance claims, managing the training database, entering new hires and others as required, events coordination, and others.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Bachelor Degree - Human Resources, Business or a related field
- CHRP/CHRL or Post Secondary Degree preferred
- Five or more years of human resources experience with advanced knowledge of employment law and regulatory agencies or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Previous people management preferr
