We are looking for an X-Ray Characterizations Facility Coordinator to support our Nanotechnology Research Centre. The X-Ray Characterizations Facility Coordinator would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

**Screening Criteria**:
**Education**:
Post-secondary degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Materials Science.

A college diploma combined with work-related experience, training and education may also be considered.

**Experience**:

- Experience with laboratory equipment for x-ray characterization;
- Experience with the analysis and interpretation of x-ray diffraction data;
- Experience with scientific inquiry and experimentation in a research environment;
- Basic experience with SEM would be an asset; and
- Basic experience with maintenance and repair would be an asset.

**Assessment Criteria**:
**Technical Competencies**:

- Solid knowledge of the science of x-ray characterization of materials, especially by the x-ray diffraction (XRD), x-ray reflectance (XRR), and small angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) techniques;
- Basic knowledge of the SEM characterization of materials;
- Ability to take direction from a variety of sources, including scientific publications, standards, and verbally;
- Ability to collect and analyse scientific data reliably;
- Ability to communicate scientific findings orally and in writing;
- Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and modify instrumentation; and
- Ability to manage a small user facility.

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.

**Compensation**:
From $58,445 to $80,040 per annum.
