**This position will be assigned a teaching rotation in Fall/Winter or Summer/Fall.**

**Teaching assignments may be changed by the Dean/Associate Dean and occur in any of the three semesters.**
- Develop and deliver a wide range of Surveying and GIS courses in our **Engineering and Environmental Technologies** programs
- Evaluate student progress / achievement in a timely manner
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment for all students
- Incorporate a variety of learning / teaching strategies and technologies to meet student needs including adaptive learning platforms
- Provide collaborative peer leadership across the portfolio in the area of Surveying and GIS (curriculum development, pedagogical approaches to align with UDL, and alternate delivery strategies) to improve student performance, retention and completion of related courses
- Participate in portfolio / academic / campus and college-wide activities as required
- Participate in course / curriculum revision, program revision and renewal activities
- Leverage peer-to-peer collaboration and the use of our LMS to provide a more consistent, seamless teaching and learning experience

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Required**:

- A minimum of a 3-year advanced diploma in Environmental Technology or equivalent related to environmental science, resource management, etc.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a related industry (e.g., municipal or provincial government, engineering/land surveying firm, conservation authority, etc.) working directly with survey equipment and GIS including related software.
- Relevant experience in cadastral, topographic and control surveying, monitoring surveys and survey layout.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to contribute to, and work in, a positive team environment and to foster the same in their students
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations and different learning behaviours
- Ability to effectively integrate new technology and information resources into teaching and learning

**Valuable Assets**:

- Familiarity with 3D scanning technology and use of drones for surveying.
- Experience in some or all of the following: teaching at post-secondary level, curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies.
- Experience and ability to teach GIS Softwares and concepts
- Current membership, or affiliation, with relevant professional associations (e.g. AOLS).

**Additional Asset / Preferred**:

- Computer literacy: Learning Management System / Web Delivery Software (i.e. Blackboard) and Student Information Systems
- The ability to teach in more than one related program area.
