**Job Summary**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the F&B Front of House Manager in organizing the administrative functions across various service areas, including the restaurant, bar, retail outlet, room service, banquets, and other F&B operations.

**Duties**
- Ensures that all regulations posted, especially those concerning security and hygiene, are respected.
- Ensures the cleanliness of operating equipment, proper inventory control and assists in the forecasting of needs of same.
- Ensures that breakage, pilferage and spillage are kept to a bare minimum.
- Books events, meets with clients, site visits.
- Creates Function Sheet for events.
- Attends weekly sales/F&B meetings.
- Welcomes new catering staff and assists with orientation and training.
- Works to ensure that there are excellent relations and coordination between the F&B Department and other hotel departments.
- Works to ensure that hotel and company policies and standards are implemented and closely monitored.
- Organizes a catering training program and ensures that the scheduled internal departmental sessions are properly conducted.
- F&B menus for guest service control.
- Provides back up for all catering invoices**, **discounts and coupons to Accounting.
- Increase sales and market share.
- Ability to work days, evenings and weekends.
- Support the team during busy periods.
- Encourages an eco-friendly approach to purchasing, selecting the best option(s) with leadership.
- Is fully prepared for fire alarms, bomb threat procedures and other safety requirements including the providing of emergency medical assistance. Works to ensure F&B staff are adequately trained in these procedures. Is familiar with the location of and how to control the supply of water, electricity and gas in an emergency situation. Is familiar with the location of and how to use fire extinguishing equipment.
- Additional duties as assigned by the F&B Manager / Head Chef.

**Experience**
- Minimum grade 12 education.
- Experience in Event planning preferred.
- Post-secondary education in food and beverage, or diploma from a community college or similar institution.
- Alternative to education: pre-requisite of 3 to 4 years’ experience in F&B operations.
- Fluent in English, bi-lingual in French preferred.
- Possesses working knowledge of POS systems and Excel, experience with Infrasys by Shiji an asset.
- Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics which inspire Team members to meet and exceed standards.
- Comfortable with guest interactions.
- Passion for customer service and guest satisfaction.
