**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager, Accommodations Test Centre (ATC), the primary purpose of the ATC Scheduling & Exam Process Specialist (SEPS) is to support the exam process administered by the ATC. The ATC provides services for both students and instructors at the University of Regina in order to meet a variety of accommodation needs during scheduled exams/tests/quizzes. The SEPS oversees the process flow of the ATC which provides year-round service for students and instructors. This includes responsibility for the comprehensive enterprise system (Accommodate Symplicity) that supports exam accommodations for students with disabilities. This position will frequently interact with every Faculty/Department and Federated College given the enterprise nature of the ATC.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Subject matter expert on the entire system which facilitates scheduling logistics and submission of exam materials by instructors as well as ensuring secure storage and safe return of all exams;
- Maintains adaptive technology and equipment, which includes repair, upgrade and purchase requirements;
- Liaises with IS and external vendors to resolve hardware, network and software issues;
- Provides instruction on the appropriate use of all adaptive technology and software to students, staff and invigilators both in advance of and during exam operations;
- Explains exam room technology to a wide audience in a non-technical manner;
- Primary operator of a 34 CCTV camera system;
- Creates and generates reports for daily schedules, seating plans, and list of exams;
- Ensures secure delivery of completed exams to instructors or their designated proxy;
- Avert or resolve problems, seek clarification regarding specific exam accommodation, and give and receive information, particularly about the enterprise system and student/instructor portals;
- Other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

- Completion of a post-secondary program (certificate or diploma) in the field of business, technology or human service is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Three years of progressively responsible administrative experience at a university or college including, experience working in a local area network, proven ability to effectively use software packages (i.e. MS Office Suite and GroupWise). Familiarity with technology used in exam accommodations (eg. Clockwork, Dragon, JAWS, AVA etc), and experience coordinating examination accommodations for students with disabilities is preferred.
- The work requires strong knowledge of modern/business practices and technology, a general knowledge of university organization and procedures and a thorough knowledge of examination regulations and procedures.
- The core service aspect of the ATC requires knowledge of a variety of accommodation circumstances, and the personal suitability to provide an environment that meets the needs of students, while also protecting the academic integrity of the examination condition.
- Tact, discretion and professionalism in dealing with students exhibiting a high degree of anxiety and stress.
- Knowledge of Saskatchewan Human Rights Code and FOIPOP.
- Knowledge of issues relating to students at risk and student development theories.
- Extensive experience working with databases, spreadsheets and manipulating data from various sources.
- Proven ability to work successfully in a team environment, modelling a positive and collaborative attitude.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Experience coaching part-time, casual staff and invigilators.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly and effectively problem-solve during high pressure situations.
- Ability to effectively mitigate the stress often experienced by students during the accommodated exam process. Empathy and attention to individual circumstances are of paramount importance.
- Extensive interpersonal communication during the examination process to ensure adherence to established ATC protocols and a positive experience for students.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of accuracy is required.
- Knowledge of Banner and academic department functions are desirable assets.

Pay Grade CUPE Phase 4 Salary Range $42,533.40 - $57,457.40 Annually Status Permanent Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:15am - 4:30pm with shift work required during peak exam times,

approximately 2 weeks per semester.
