Student Planner **(Contract; May - August 2023)**

Reporting to the Manager, Planning and Development; and Manager, Policy Planning, the Student Planner is responsible for the following:

- Assisting Planning and Committee of Adjustment staff on day-to-day department matters.
- Assisting with preparing information for property inquiries related to Zoning, Official Plan, other by-laws, and policies.
- Researching and updating information/data, and assisting with, file status tracking spreadsheet/database and related projects.
- Providing support on various policy projects and initiatives.
- Undertaking research and analysis.
- Drafting communications and notices.
- Assisting with public consultations.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The successful applicant will possess:

- Minimum of two (2) years completed in Planning or relevant study.
- Familiarity with the Planning Act, Provincial Policy Statement, Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan, Greenbelt Plan, Official Plans, and Zoning By-laws.
- Customer service skills and office administration experience, preferably in a front-line capacity.
- Working knowledge of standard office computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Adobe.
- Team-oriented, positive attitude.
- Ability to balance various tasks, often under pressure.
- Ability to work under little supervision.
- Computer graphic design skills and GIS mapping an asset.
- Interest in learning new software and in being exposed to a busy, customer-oriented working environment.

Salary Range/Wage Rate: $19.80/hour
