The Manager, Capital Communications - GO Expansion provides strategic leadership for communications planning that creates public awareness and support of Metrolinx’s capital program - particularly the GO expansion program.

**What will I be doing?**
- Manage the implementation of a comprehensive integrated strategic communication program in support of the delivery of Metrolinx capital projects.
- Lead communications planning activities with clearly identified short-term and long-term communication objectives; conceptualize and build objectives into strategic communication plans that address all internal and external target audiences across all channels, including mainstream and social media channels.
- Lead the development of content marketing and media relations strategies, messages and materials to build awareness and support the priorities of the capital program, and contribute to balanced/positive tone.
- Create a working environment that is aligned with the organization’s desire to be a “best company to work for,” ensuring that direct reports possess the required skills, are properly supported, and are provided with the resources to do the job.
- Monitor project and program progress to deliver objectives on time, and achieve anticipated business results, including managing the communication elements of project agreements and/or communications protocols established as part of capital project contracts.
- Measure the quality, performance and outcomes of strategic communications objectives through the development, implementation and dissemination of metrics, key performance indicators and associated reports; monitor and report on progress to senior management and to the Board; identify risks, implications, and opportunities to enhance Metrolinx’s public profile and image.

**What skills & qualifications do I need?**
- Completion of a degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism or a related discipline - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
- Minimum 8 (eight) years’ progressively senior experience developing and implementing strategic communications strategies and plans, with experience in working in an integrated organization with some demonstrated management experience
- Superior interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills to liaise with senior transit officials, elected officials, and senior government and third-party staff to address their requirements; to present project information to community groups at public meetings; to clearly convey ideas and listen to others; to address the media, and; oversee the production of all communication materials by the unit.
