The Position
As the Database Manager for the Advancement Department, you will play a vital role in managing
our fundraising and alumni database systems. You will work closely with the Advancement team
to support donor rela>ons, gi? processing, alumni engagement, and other fundraising ac>vi>es.

Key Responsibilities
Provides data support (automating tasks whenever possible) and participates in the
following areas:

- Assists with the maintenance of the (SIS) mostly during the closing/opening of the

school year)
- Creates and modifies Crystal Reports
- Processes planned data import into SIS (using CSV, Excel, etc.)
- Creates/prepares reports for the Advancement Department
- Offers SIS IT support
- Creates queries/scripts, import/export, manipulate/transform, and loads data
- from and to various databases including SIS- Verifies integrity, consistency, and backups of the databases
- Ensures the availability, functioning, and security of databases
- Participates in developing and updating IT resources
- Participates in various projects and other related tasks

Database Manager
Advancement Department

10-25 hours/week

- Administer and maintain the school's fundraising and alumni database systems,

ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security
- Manage gift processing procedures, including gift entry, acknowledgment letters,

pledge reminders, and reconciliation with financial records
- Generate and analyze reports to track fundraising progress, donor trends, and

campaign effectiveness, providing insights and recommendations for
improvement
- Support the Advancement team in planning and executing fundraising campaigns,

events, and stewardship initiatives
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to ensure accurate and timely

communication with alumni, parents, and donors
- Provide training and support to staff members on database usage, policies, and

procedures
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies in

fundraising and database management
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business

administration, or related field
- Proven experience as a database administrator, preferably in a nonprofit or

educational institution
- Proficiency in database management systems, such as Raiser's Edge, Blackbaud

CRM, Salesforce, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of fundraising principles and practices, including gift

processing, donor relations, and stewardship
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data

and generate actionable insights
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and compliance with privacy

regulations
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work

collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven

environment.
