**What can I expect to do in this role?**:
**Work Description**

The Ontario Heritage Trust is looking for an individual to assist in the monitoring of Provincial heritage easement sites. The Architectural Conservation Assistant is required to inspect heritage properties and prepare building condition reports based on their findings as well as record management activities for these easement properties.

You may be required to work on some or all of the following tasks:

- You are willing to travel to clients within your assigned region.
- Inspect and document easement properties.
- Photograph the heritage elements of the properties.
- Analyze easement property records to determine recent changes to properties.
- Prepare monitoring reports of historic properties.
- Manage the easement property database (MS Access).

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:
You must meet **all** eligibility criteria by the first day of employment (contracts begin between May and July):

- **Age**: You must be a minimum of 15 years of age. There is no maximum age limit.
- ** Residency**: You must be a resident of Ontario during the term of employment.
- ** Work Status**: You must be legally entitled to work in Canada and have a valid Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN) for the full duration of your summer employment.

**Communication and Interpersonal Skills**:

- Written communication skills to prepare a variety of documents (e.g. reports, document findings, record data)
- Self-motivation and interpersonal skills to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

**Technical Skills and Knowledge**:

- You have experience working with digital photography.
- You have strong research skills, an understanding of architectural terminology, and an interest in architectural conservation (required).

**Analytical and Organizational Skills**:

- You must have a valid Ontario G2 Driver's Licence or equivalent (or higher) with an excellent record.
