**Position: Head Guide/Principal - New Montessori Program**
**About Us**: Peninsula Montessori Academy is launching an exciting new Montessori Elementary program and is seeking a dedicated and passionate Head Guide/Principal to be a key player in this innovative initiative. **Role Overview**: In this new position, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that aligns with the Montessori Cosmic Curriculum while integrating key concepts from the BC provincial curriculum. Your commitment to holistic education will be crucial in fostering social and emotional development in our learners. Collaborating with parents, staff, and the community, you will ensure that each child can achieve their fullest potential.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that reflect Montessori principles and provincial curriculum standards.
- Utilize diverse teaching strategies to accommodate varying learning styles and abilities.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and classroom activities.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages participation and collaboration.
- Assess and evaluate student growth primarily through observation and tailored methods.
- Maintain organized records of student attendance and progress.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance teaching practices and share resources.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.
- Stay informed about Ministry regulations and requirements.
- Work with Administrative Staff to ensure that policies and procedures are updated and implemented.
- Conduct annual evaluations of teaching and support staff.
- Manage program costs effectively within budget constraints.
- Attend regular Board meetings.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field is required.
- AMI/AMS or MACTE approved Elementary level certificate and relevant teaching experience.
- Valid BC teaching certification.
- Current Criminal Record Check (CRC).
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a Montessori Elementary environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of special education practices is a plus.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom culture that values diversity.
