**Job Description**:
Under the supervision of the Manager the planner organizes the production of goods or machine parts to match customer orders and factory production as closely as possible. The Planner must be in constant communication with various departments to resolve production conflicts and maximize performance. The Production Planner plans, develops, tests and deploys the best production strategies according to the various manufacturing models; TOC, Kanban, Lean, pull/push flow etc. The planner develops a very large knowledge of the tools with which he works. This knowledge will allow him to model and automate the various manufacturing processes.
Role and responsibilities
Execute and model daily scheduling sessions in a proactive, thorough and timely manner and ability to recognize the importance of scheduling constrained items, track and monitor performance.
- Modify schedules to maximize customer delivery performance and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Ensure accurate and timely updating of information on sources of demand (forecasts, stocking schedules, customer orders, new product introduction, etc.).
- Monitors material supply flow and identifies potential shortages or bottlenecks in usage.
- Identifies and resolves inventory related issues.
- Ensures accurate and timely updating of workstation capacity information.
- Ensure effective and ongoing communication links with all departments within the organization.
Recognize and participate in improvements and measurements of key performance indicators (KPIs), production planning areas, and overall company goals
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- As a planner, it is essential to be well organized. In a changing environment, you have the ability to keep an overview. In addition, you are good at prioritizing.
- Planners are in constant contact with many functions within an organization. It is important to be able to involve departments to facilitate the decision-making process.Identify opportunities and bottlenecks and seek targeted solutions. It is the duty of every planner.
- You implement short-term solutions and contribute to the improvement of long-term processes.As a planner, you must have communication skills to clearly communicate and share your ideas and opinions with others.
- The planner sees where a challenge lies and how it can be solved. We get these solutions from the analyses and forecasts made.
- The ideal planner has analytical skills. In addition, as a planner, you must consider the interests of the client, the interests of the organization in the choices you make.
- This mastery will allow you to propose the best manufacturing processes according to the various profiles of our customers.
- Master the French language and the English (planning with the warehouse from the United States).
