We are looking for a Signaling Design Specialist to join our team in Toronto

Key Responsibilities

TECHNICAL:- Prepares specialized signaling design skills, covering one or more of the following:
- Signaling Principles-
- Data Requirements-
- Block Design-
- Application database design-
- Ensures the signaling design is implemented in accordance with applicable standards and signaling principles.- Prepares and supports customer requirements compliance assessment, and gap analysis.- It is also important as a signaling design engineer to understand the system, subsystem, and interface requirement specifications and have the ability to assess how these will impact the data requirements and database design.- The Signaling Engineering team at times will also participate in system design work. This would include developing system, subsystem, and interface requirement specifications and performing compliance assessments to customer requirements.- Interfaces and builds strong working relationships with Software, Hardware and IVVQ groups to ensure timely analysis and resolution of in-house and field test issues and to ensure a good understanding of the Signaling Design.
- SAFETY:_- Promotes a safety culture where product safety is paramount.- Ensures that safety is built into the design by early identification and resolution of safety related defects.

Required Skills and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Systems, Electrical, Computer), Computer Science, or a closely related field- Entry-level 1-2 years expertise in URS (Urban Rail Signaling) Systems or equivalent educational background- Excellent communication and presentation skills- Ability to work under supervision to produce the required artifacts.- Has a technical curiosity to understand how systems work

Preferred Skills and Experience- Experience in using DOORS, Polarion, Melody advance, or other system design and requirement management tools.- Knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices.- Experience in the development of databases used for software development- Understanding of the use of tools to create/verify data for safety critical systems- Rail Signaling knowledge- Strong planning and organizational skills
