**Overview**: As an Excavation/Grading Foreman, you will oversee and manage excavation and grading operations on construction sites. You will lead a team of workers and equipment operators to ensure efficient and accurate excavation, grading, and earthmoving activities according to project specifications and timelines.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Operational Leadership**:

- Supervise and coordinate excavation and grading activities on construction sites.
- Lead a team of equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Allocate resources and equipment effectively to meet project requirements and timelines.
- **Site Preparation and Planning**:

- Review and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Plan and organize excavation and grading sequences to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental guidelines throughout all excavation and grading operations.
- **Equipment Operation and Maintenance**:

- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, and loaders as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
- **Quality Assurance**:

- Monitor excavation and grading activities to ensure accuracy and quality of workmanship.
- Conduct inspections of finished surfaces to verify compliance with project specifications and grading plans.
- Implement corrective measures as needed to address deviations from design or quality standards.
- **Team Management and Communication**:

- Provide leadership and guidance to crew members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
- Train and mentor team members on proper excavation and grading techniques and equipment operation.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including equipment usage, materials, and labor hours.
- Prepare daily progress reports, work logs, and incident reports as required by project management.
- Communicate project updates, challenges, and achievements to project stakeholders and management.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as an Excavation or Grading Foreman in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in operating and supervising heavy equipment operations, including excavators, bulldozers, and graders.
- Strong knowledge of construction plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Leadership abilities with excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact professionally with team members, subcontractors, and clients.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental guidelines related to excavation and grading activities.

**Education and Certification**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training in construction management or related field preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; heavy equipment operator certification is an asset.

**Work Environment**:

- Work primarily takes place outdoors on construction sites, involving exposure to varying weather conditions and physical demands.
- May require occasional travel to different project locations and flexibility in working hours to meet project deadlines.

Pay: From $32.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
