**What you will do**:

- Act as Northview’s representative or liaison in relation to all provincial and territorial OHS regulators, where required;
- Participate actively in corporate and regional safety meetings and provide presentations (as required) on key safety topics;
- Provide periodic field-based reviews, audits or inspections to verify procedures and standards are being followed and to promote corporate safety initiatives;
- Coordinate, review and assist with incident investigations, development of corrective actions and reporting;
- Identify, develop and spearhead new safety initiatives, work processes, and training programs intended to improve or enhance Northview’s safe work practices and reduce safety risks and maintain or raise safety awareness;
- Promote a strong safety culture through effective employee communications and recognition.
- Maintain key safety performance indicators (leading and lagging) for the purposes of reporting to executive, management, and the organization on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Receive, assess, and report employee and contractor safety incidents using Northview’s incident reporting systems.
- Maintain the MS SharePoint HSE site as an internal safety resource for the organization and its employees.
- Oversee Northview’s Joint Workplace Health and Safety Committees across the organization’s regions.
- Support Northview’s vendor management program by assessing and approving the safety program requirements applicable to Northview contractors.
- Oversee and guide the management of Northview’s workers compensation claims in conjunction with Northview’s workers compensation claim consultant;
- Travel to regions as required

**What you will bring**:

- Completion of an Occupational Health & Safety Diploma, or similar certification, is required
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of WCB, Hazard Identifications, Accident Investigations, and Canadian OH&S Legislation.
- Knowledge of safety legislation and requirement and how it applies in the property management or commercial real estate industry is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills so as to facilitate strong and collaborative relations with field-based management and supervisors.
- High standards of ethical conduct; ensuring the preservation of confidential and/or sensitive information.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office, Excel, and SharePoint are a strong asset.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
- First Aid certificate (valid and current).
- Must have minimum of valid class 5 driver's license.
