Hamilton, Canada Soccer World Full time

Community Soccer, Baseball & Flag Football programs operate in the summer at multiple sites across the City of Hamilton. At each location the team of up to 30 part-time coaches lead weekly classes and coach teams of children ages 17months to 17yrs. You will train and mentor your team of coaches and are responsible for the delivery of a quality program at each of your assigned locations.

As a member of the management team, you will actively participate in pre-season training of over 100 part-time coaches who will work 3-20 hours per week. During the season you will inventory and prepare equipment and uniforms, manage coach schedules changes, respond to concerns and resolve participant, parent and staff issues as they arise, assist with social media campaigns, player portraits and coordinate the staff social calendar.

You are a team player with the ability to multitask, and an organized leader on and off the field. You are comfortable both receiving and providing feedback, and bring high energy and enthusiasm to your job. You will work closely with the Youth Program Director.

**Pre Season Responsibilities and Duties**
- Be actively involved and lead sessions during coach training
- Organize team rosters & assign children to classes
- Inventory equipment and coordinate uniform distribution

**During Season Responsibilities and Duties**
- Provide feedback, encouragement and leadership to coaches
- Prepare, stock, pack and deliver all equipment & uniforms for daily programs
- Facilitate fast and efficient team set-up and take-down at each site
- Outline curriculum changes to coaches when applicable
- Collect and present curriculum feedback
- Maintain league scores & standings
- Enforce all field rules and expectations to the coaches and ensure follow-up where needed
- Manage Media Intern, including on-site uniforms & photos
- Organize and supervise taking player portraits and distributing photos
- Create a positive ‘manager to coach’ relationship that focuses on trust, compassion and enthusiasm
- Organize coach social events throughout the summer session
- Handle any coach, player or parent issues in a calm and professional manner and seek assistance where needed
- Actively evaluate staff whether formal or informal, each week
- Diligently book staff coverage and vacation time on the coverage sheet and ensure programs are staffed correctly
- Timesheet management
- Be ready to join and assist in classes and leagues where necessary

**Post Season Responsibilities and Duties**
- Complete end of season coach reviews
- Complete post season wrap-up
- Return all field equipment and store for following year
- Organize end of season staff event

**Job Requirements**
- Experience working with children and the public is an asset
- Supervisory experience is an asset
- Excellent leadership, organizational and time management skills
- Team player and good communicator
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- G2 or G Driver’s Licence & confident driving a cargo van
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Rotating Monday-Thursday afternoon/evenings and Saturday/Sunday morning shifts
- 100% attendance

**Salary and Additional Information**
- Full time (40hrs/wk)
- April 29th, 2024 - August 30th, 2024
- $22/hour
