The Health and Wellness Promotion Branch provides strategic direction and leadership in development of provincial policy in the following areas:

- Communicable disease control;
- Sexually transmitted and blood borne infection;
- Immunization and vaccine logistics;
- Health promotion;
- Promotion of population wellness and health equity;
- Maternal and infant health;
- Injury prevention;

- Population health screening (including cancer).

A key objective is to safeguard Albertans from communicable diseases through initiatives aimed at decreasing sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections, and through increased immunization for vaccine-preventable diseases, such as influenza, COVID-19 and measles.

The Provincial Vaccine Depot (PVD) serves as the centralized distribution hub for all provincially funded vaccines in Alberta. Positioned at the center of the province's vaccine supply chain, the PVD manages the logistics of distributing vaccines to all community immunization service providers throughout Alberta.

**Salary**: $2,757.39 to $3,604.17 bi-weekly ($71,968 - $94,068.84/year)

**Role Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager, Immunization Business, the Site Coordinator - PVD (Provincial Vaccine Depot) contributes to the protection of public health by assisting with the procurement, storage and distribution of approximately $80M purchased biological products (including antiviral medication) into and out of the Alberta Provincial Vaccine Depot. This operational team supports provincially funded immunization programs across Alberta.

**Key responsibilities of the Site Coordinator - PVD include**:
**Site Supervision and Leadership**
- Provide day to day on site coordination and performance management of team members including leading occupational health and safety assessments and related items.
- Supports the Team Leads and other team members.
- Review and ensure staffing schedules meet operational requirements.
- Manages day to day supply chain issues and leads triaging, diagnosing, and solving day to day issues.

**Business Leadership**
- Oversee and facilitate provincially funded vaccine distribution to AHS and non-AHS immunization partners.
- Support the Immunization Team operational program planning (e.g., business plan, immunization strategies, contingency planning, etc.).
- Leads communication with external stakeholders regarding routine delivery schedules and changes to operations including chairing meetings with stakeholders.
- Understands the requirement outlined in the Immunization Regulation and AB Vaccine Storage and Handling Policy for the storage, handling and transportation of vaccines.

**Project Leadership**
- Drives projects related to facility maintenance, facility licensing, facility moving, and quality improvement.
- Assists the Alberta Health Immunization Team with policy development related to: vaccine storage & handling, inventory control, distribution and cold chain management as required.
- Supports the development of standard operating procedures with respect to warehousing and office administration procedures. This position will review all procedures to ensure they are in line with operational and policy requirements and support the alignment of local policies with national licensing requirements and best practices.

**Storage, Handling, and Transportation (Cold Chain) Leadership**
- Manages regular temperature mapping of storage areas to ensure storage complies with manufacturer recommendations.
- Initiates a Cold Chain Break Report and seeks stability information from the manufacturer when a break is identified.

**Equipment and Supplies Management Leadership**
- Leads scheduling of equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Facilitates the purchase of new equipment, including refrigeration units, and other and other items as needed.
- Financial reporting on operating costs including obtaining quotes, cost approvals, and invoices to support day-to day operations and forward planning.
