**About the Opportunity**:
Mental Health and Addictions (MHA) operates out of various hospitals, clinics, and community locations across the province. It is comprised of specialized teams of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers, Health Promoters, Recreation Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Secretaries, and other members of the allied health and support team.

The Advanced Practice Leader (APL) will be part of the Provincial Center for Training, Education, and Learning (PCTEL) and will report to the Provincial Clinical Leader and Manager of Training and Education.

Supporting interdisciplinary collaborative practice, the APL will provide leadership, clinical consultation and oversight, and training to clinical staff within the Mental Health and Addictions Program. The APL roles are focused on advancing evidence-based care through training and clinical consultation. The APL in this position will have a special focus on supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of a model of care (service delivery model) throughout the Adult Community Mental Health and Addictions Teams across the province.

The APL will use 0.2 FTE for clinical work and will attend PCTEL team meetings. They will have training and experience delivering evidence-based interventions for a range of disorders, including mood, anxiety, substance use, and trauma-related disorders, as well as adapting evidence-based interventions for clients from under-represented and/or marginalized groups. Certification in cognitive-behavioural therapy is an asset. Content expertise in program development and evaluation, group therapy, and adult learning are required.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology
- Registered, or eligible to be registered/licensed with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology.
- Minimum of four (4) years of formal training & clinical experience in adult mental health & addictions, including two (2) years’ experience providing clinical consultation and supervision for mental health problems, including group-based supervision, live supervision, and case consultation. Have received supervision/consultation regarding own supervision and consultation skills.
- Training and experience in motivational interviewing and cognitive and behavioural interventions for a range of mental health disorders (e.g., behavioural activation, cognitive therapy for depression, protocol-based treatments for anxiety disorders, unified protocol, addictions, and trauma-related disorders). Certification in cognitive-behavioural therapy is an asset.
- Training and experience in interpersonal therapy for depression and other evidence-based treatments for mood, anxiety, substance use, and personality disorders are assets.
- Skills and experience in promoting learning cultures that emphasize anti-racist and intersectional values, analysis, and actions, clinical humility, and the responsible use of power and privilege.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and experience providing training and consultation in mental health and addictions
- Experience with program evaluation and research
- Knowledge of and experience with the DSM-5-TR diagnostic classification system.
- Skills in leadership, advocacy, and team building

**Hours**:

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$50.37 - $65.03 hourly
