Edmonton, Canada Envirotech Fire Systems Inc. Full time

Scope: Responsible for the Purchasing of product, services and supplies in accordance with prescribed purchasing policies and procedures - while ensuring & maintaining acceptable Key Performance Indicators.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor inventory min/max levels and recommend order quantity.
- Update lead times into the ERP
- Generate Purchase Orders for external vendors.
- Generate work orders for production.
- Execute volume buys (negotiated by Senior Management)
- Ensure pricing terms and conditions are met by vendors.
- Verify vendor PO Acknowledgement/Confirmations
- Expedite past due POs.
- Resolve AP Discrepancies
- Source vendors and obtain quotes as requested.
- Purchase Service Parts and Shop Supplies
- Execute New product set-up after approval by Senior Management
- Communicate with Customer Service, Warehouse and Logistics staff
- Ensure documentation for import products.

**Education & Training**:

- Require knowledge and expertise in the Principles and Practices of Purchasing & Inventory Management - Utilizing these skills within an ERP system to meet the needs and expectations of both external and internal customers.
- Preferably a University/College Graduate with 3-5 years of Purchasing experience
- SCMA Accreditation or working towards accreditation is preferred
- Experience with import requirements is critical

**Functional Skills**:

- Exceptional computer skills, including MS Office and Power Point.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group.
- Understanding and working knowledge of Purchasing and Distribution Management Systems (Experience with Epicor an asset).
- Industry experience & product knowledge is helpful and preferred

**Decision Making & Problem Solving**:

- Regularly changing situations require analysis and evaluation to determine action and solutions to problems.
- Co-ordinates a major function of the organization.
- Must understand priorities and make decisions based on the short term and long term needs of the company.

**Supervisory & Management Responsibility**
- No Direct or indirect reports for this position at present.

**Independence of Action**
- This position requires the employee to work independently on general assignments. Position may be required to co-ordinate various related activities or work units. Reporting to supervisor largely accomplished by results. Employee refers matters concerning policy change to supervisor.

**Consequence of Error and Budget Responsibilities**
- Errors may cause significant identifiable losses to the organization. These losses could be in terms of monetary consequences, adverse effect on relationships within the organization or identifiable deterioration in public or customer relations.

- Have access to and must keep confidential any information relating to individuals within the organization and information shared at the Management/Executive level.

**Contacts - Internal and External**
- Contacts of importance are a regular part of the responsibilities of the position.
- Tact and judgment are required when dealing with others.

**Internal Contacts**
- Communicating with other departments; settling working arrangements that may be
awkward and follow-up to ensure workflow is maintained.
- Presenting information where tact and judgment is required to obtain approval of
action, cooperation or secure a decision.

**External Contacts**
- Regular contacts when dealing with sales, complaints or service irregularities,
judgment and tact in dealing with outside contacts of importance. However,
procedures and standards are established and are to be followed.
- Vendor relations are critical to success.

**Salary**: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
