Our ‘weigh and pay’ shopping experience makes it as convenient as possible for people to transition to a plastic-free, lower-impact lifestyle.

**Position Summary**

If so, join our team that provides a one-stop-shop outlet for an established community of zero-waste conscious shoppers - plus act as a conduit for educating and transitioning the growing movement of future zero-waste consumers. Working as part of a team, the **Zero-Waste Ambassador **performs all general operations, merchandising duties and customer facing responsibilities required to successfully maintain day to day operations.

**Key Accountabilities**

The Zero Waste Ambassador is responsible for the following:

- Ability to operate store point of sale register; complete store daily open/close functions;
- Providing exceptional customer service;
- Assisting in refilling, restocking of all merchandise;
- Educating and training on zero-waste best practices;
- Responsible for keeping store clean and uncluttered;
- Receive, check, and shelve merchandise orders; confirm purchase orders and manage the store’s inventory; and
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor

**Job Requirements**
- Experience in the retail or service industry is an important asset;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced customer centric environment;
- Ability to efficiently organize time and manage priorities;
- Must be a strong team player
- Flexibility with regard to availabilities and work schedules (day, evening, week-end)

**Skills and Abilities**
- Strong interpersonal and ethical behavior to manage the company’s assets and engage with customers;
- Basic math skills to count, add, subtract and convert in KG to 100gram etc; and
- Excellent customer service skills that nurtures a strong relationship-educational environment.

**Work Environment / Travel / Physical Demands**
- Normal retail store environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, etc;
- Must be able to work independently with remote supervision;
- Bending, lifting, reaching for and moving merchandise. Lifting up to at least 25 lbs.
- Moving small display fixtures; and
- Standing for long periods of time

Zero Waste Lead position also involves:

- Staff supervision - including breaks and task management
- Inventory management
- Square and online store updating
- Customer communication for special orders
- Fresh goods management.
