**The Opportunity**:
WSP E&I is seeking to hire a Junior Project Controls Specialist / Cost Controller to join our Burlington, ON office. Reporting to the Project Controls Lead, the Project Control Specialist will be responsible in providing project control support to ongoing projects and supporting Wood’s project control system is properly implemented and utilized.

**A day in the life**:

- Review project proposal, original budget and compere to current revision and identify/investigate changes
- Compare staff rates in proposal to actual rates on project
- Work with project managers to find and suggest possible corrective measures to maintain cost within targeted budget
- Prepare cost reports as required
- Review subcontract budget vs. actual cost and advise for current and expected overruns
- Support project controls effort in monitor and minimize project variances and overruns
- Advise project managers and project staff for effort and expenditures misallocations
- Control and Maintain project charges to keep them within proposal and original targeted amounts
- Identify project overruns and suggest corrective actions
- Prepare and finalize invoices to clients along with supporting documents i.e. Progress Report, Tracking Sheet, cover letter.

**What you'll bring to WSP...**:

- Post-secondary, college or BSc. In engineering, accounting, finance, business or project administration
- 1 to 2 years of experience in project controls, cost control, financial administration
- Experience with; Cost analysis and control
- Demonstrated understanding the engineering business and work environment
- Applied knowledge of the “Earned Value” principles
- Applied knowledge of Project Management and Project Controls principles, including experience with concepts of PMBOK
