**General Purpose of This Position**:
Reporting to the Project HSE Manager, the Project HSE Lead provides support to the Jansen Project team in all aspects of health, safety, training, and environmental requirements as part of Cementation's scope of work at Jansen.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**

**Health & Safety**:

- Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Cementation.
- Be aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report to Management.
- Participate in the safety program.

**General Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide direction and support to a team of Health and Safety Advisors as well as Skills Trainers.
- Assist and support the implementation of the project's health and safety management system in consultation with the project HSE Manager.
- Compare standards from Cementation, client and the Saskatchewan mine regulations and choose the highest standard when developing site-specific procedures.
- Participate in risk assessments for the work of Cementation and sub-contractors with the project team.
- Participate in project level (schedule, engineering) risk reviews and provide feedback related to health, safety and environment.
- Research Saskatchewan mining and construction regulations to determine any project specific equipment, health, safety, environment, and training requirements.
- Become familiar with Jansen's HSE reporting requirements and train Operations personnel on those systems.
- Support and facilitate requirements for the project's Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee.
- Ensure the accurate maintenance of records and statistics related to health and safety and report to project management.
- Communicate with government officials and client representatives in a professional manner.
- Assist in the development of in-house training programs for employees.
- Investigate all injuries, incidents and near misses with the site team. Implement corrective actions that prevent reoccurrence and monitor effectiveness.
- Monitor compliance to all aspects of the safety systems and coach employees, always striving for continuous improvement.
- Prepare a variety of weekly and monthly reports.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**:

- Provides direct supervision to the site HSE Advisors and site Skills Trainers.

**Pre-Employment Qualifications**:

- Pass pre-employment drug, alcohol, and medical testing.
- Criminal Record Check (if applicable).
- 5 to 10 years related mining experience.
- Experience in a mining related safety professional position.

**Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities**:

- Manage and support the HSE team.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and other stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
