**What you will be doing**

The Dispatcher position is a part of the Transportation Team at Gerrie. The Dispatcher will be working out of the Gerrie DC (Burlington) covering the afternoon operation and is responsible for assisting the Shipping Team with sorting and building the shipments and deliveries for the next day deliveries. The position will receive additional training for the assistance and coverage in loading and unloading long product.

**DISPATCH TASKS**

Prepares and updates field units and route schedules

Logs calls and service requests and responds in timely manner

Monitors and maintains multi-line communication systems

Organizes deployment strategy based on field personnel and urgency of requests

Utilizes computer-aided dispatch systems

Records accurate information such as location and time

Determines, monitors, and ensures the availability of units of dispatch

Coordinates Preventative Maintenance Schedules for vehicles

**DRIVING RESPONSIBILITIES**

Occasional transit van transport assist with pickup and delivery requests (rush/emergency basis)

**TEAMWORK AND COLLABORATION**

Create and maintain a team atmosphere and ensure employee concerns are resolved promptly

Work collaboratively with Account Mangers, Product Managers and other sales staff to create an exceptional customer experience

**What you bring to the table**

High School or equivalent

Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience

Working knowledge of MS Office

Experience with TMS

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

Knowledge of dispatch codes and phonetic alphabet

Able to work for extended hours (afternoon shift)

Strong interpersonal skills

Outstanding communication skills

G Class License or above

Clean Driver’s Abstract

Transit / 5 Ton driving experience

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
