The Salvation Army is looking for outgoing, personable, and self-motivated individuals who want to make a positive impact in their community. If you love the art of conversation, can engage the public and inspire them to donate to the cause, then you should join our team as a Christmas Kettle Host. Every dollar raised through this program goes back into the community to help feed, clothe, and shelter those in need, while helping others escape violence and addiction.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Host Kettle location and engage with public to encourage donations
Great and thank Donors courteously
Respond to donor / public questions and or make appropriate referral to the Kettle Coordinator; report any issues or concerns to Coordinator
Network with store or property personnel / staff
Manage kettle supply inventory and request supplies when necessary
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:
**Experience/ Required Skills**:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, positive working attitude
Sensitivity to social issues within our community
Highly accountable, may be required to work different shifts, ie afternoons, evenings and Saturdays.
Ability to work independently & part of a team
Ability to stand for 6 hours, (may increase as per Kettle Campaign requires)
Local travel is associated with this position.
Required to ware appropriate Salvation Army Identification
**HOURS**: This is a temporary seasonal position. Hours may vary. Weekend and afternoons availability.
Attend a Kettle Host training session
Background check consent.
A clear vulnerable sector screening.
Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
**PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES**:
Fundraising experience.
Multiple languages an asset
