Canadian Engineered Wood Products is a wholesale and distribution commodity lumber trading company located in Sylvan Lake, AB. We are currently searching for the right individual to join our team as our Transportation and Logistics Coordinator.

The Transportation Coordinator role is a vital position within the company and a large key to the success of our day-to-day operations. In this role you will be responsible for:

- Communicating daily with transportation companies to book freight from a variety of locations and destinations in both Canada and the United States.
- Process documentation for booking.
- Keep in constant communication with carriers ensuring loads are being picked up and delivered on time.
- Negotiate freight costs and scheduling with carriers.
- Source new carrier and freight opportunities on a consistent basis.
- Work closely with traders to provide information about orders and updates in real time.
- Handle customs invoices for cross border shipments.
- Tracing rail car shipments, using 3rd party software.
- Participating in sales calls to discuss market trends and brief the sales team on potential logístical issues.
- Self-directed, the expectations are that you can manage the workflow and are not in need of constant guidance or monitoring.
- Able to deal with multiple tasks and comfortable with disruption.
- Comfortable in an open office environment, our trading office is wide open and can be active during busy periods, managing your workflow in this setting is imperative.
- Punctual and committed, the transportation co-ordinator position is an in-office role and the individual needs to be relied upon to be at their desk and available during trading hours.
- Post secondary education that would be salient to the role.
- A history of committed employment.
- Prior work history in similar roles that would lend experience to the position.

Remuneration for the position is above industry standards and consists of base pay, potential for performance bonus and profit sharing as well as health and benefits package.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
