**Position Summary**

As a Recruitment Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to provide a solution-focused approach to assisting clients in finding and maintaining employment. Provide guidance, counselling, information and referrals to case-managed clients on all aspects of employment search and career planning.

**In this role, you will**:

- Provide individualized on-the-job supports and services to employers and clients to ensure labor market attachment for clients with disabilities and other barriers to job integration and retention
- Assess the need for workplace accommodations and negotiate these with employers
- Conduct job task analysis and develop and monitor training and support plans in partnership with clients and employers,
- Assist clients in understanding the workplace's physical and social environment,
- Provide “off the job supports” such as transportation, time management, and financial supports to address client barriers to employment
- Monitor client integration in the workplace and mediate/resolve arising issues to ensure successful ongoing employment
- Assist clients with disabilities and other barriers, by promoting growth and development, setting, and achieving short-term and long-term goals, and providing opportunities for learning, training, and career laddering
- Provide ongoing contact with clients throughout the monitoring phase as per mandatory contact frequencies established by the program
- Secure client documentation and maintain electronic records as required
- Perform administrative functions as required by the program
- Assist in maintaining the program database by entering data, generating

reports, supporting analysis, and regular auditing of data integrity
- Collect statistics and prepares reports as required
- Assist in the development of program specific policies and procedures
- Provide support to clients of team members as needed

**You bring**:

- A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Social Sciences or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and touch typing of minimum 45 wpm
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage difficult, challenging, or disruptive clients and alleviate or resolve issues
- Ability to provide a current vulnerable sector check upon being hired
- Valid Driver’s License as this position requires travel within the Durham Region
