**Job Summary**: The IT System Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing an organization's information technology infrastructure. They ensure that all hardware, software, networks, and systems are functioning efficiently and securely to support the organization's operations. They must possess strong problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:
Information Technology
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, hardware, software, and network components to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, implementing solutions and providing technical support as needed.
- Perform regular system backups, updates, and patches to ensure data integrity and protection against potential threats.
- Collaborate with other IT professionals and cross-functional teams to support project implementation and ongoing maintenance.
- Develop, document, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
- Continuously research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve the overall IT infrastructure and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Train and mentor junior team members and provide guidance on technical matters.
- Act as the point of contact for IT-related issues and provide timely and efficient resolution.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, including data protection and privacy laws.

**Working Conditions**:

- Intensive computer work and extended use of the computer keyboard and mouse.
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time - up to 8+ hours per day.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 20 lbs.
- Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
- Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
- Exposure to ink and chemical fumes, and airborne particles such as paper dust and drying powder.
- Appearance at all times must represent the company image.
- Additional hours may be required due to operational requirements

**Qualifications**:

- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system administration, network administration, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, particularly Windows and Linux, as well as networking concepts and protocols.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies, cloud computing, and various IT tools, such as remote monitoring and management (RMM) systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python, is an advantage.
- Experience with database management and administration, including SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), are preferred.
- The IT System Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring an organization's IT infrastructure is robust, secure, and efficient. They must be adept at managing various tasks, staying current with emerging technologies, and collaborating with other professionals to support the organization's goals.
