**Position Summary**

The Critical Systems Architect is responsible for leading the definition and design of the AJISS Integrated Data Environment (IDE), which is the digital automation & transformation platform behind the $5B AJISS contract:

- Earns the trust of IDE Stakeholders, including the broader functional groups within the Customer organization.
- Formulates and stages the solution consistent with Customer guidance, immediate AJISS needs, long term AJISS needs, and Group product policy. Influences investments to accelerate ROI.
- Guarantees solution compliance
- Builds and advises on industrial teams composed of external partners and internal resources.
- Communicates technical solutions to all audiences.

This specific position will be assigned as the PDA (Project Design Authority) for the AJISS IDE.

**Key Responsibilities**

The expectations from Critical Systems Architect are as follows:

- Visualize and design data centric systems of systems of systems. Develop IDE System Architecture documents and artifacts where functionality, performance, and cyber security are addressed as an integrated whole.
- Work with IDE end users to capture key value and pain points.
- Identify, vet, recommend, and collaborate with Thales’ AJISS partners.
- Develop and present AJISS Value-ECPs per the contract.
- Support capture, bid and project team to understand the context and customer needs
- Acts as the primary technical leader for the IDE and the lead technical interface with the Customer
- Present solutions and designs to partners, customers, and internal stakeholders, including the preparation of RFP documents.
- Contributing to technical and Group level product policy development and governance
- Contributing to the strategic planning by eliciting needs from the business lines, and aligning with the Thales Group’s initiatives
- Sponsoring and launching R&D projects
- Providing coaching and tutoring to staff
- Contributing to technical specification definition and to subcontractor selection
- Influencing architecture practices within the organization
- Informing and influencing key stakeholders to align with strategic direction

**Key Requirements**:
**Education**:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent education with relevant experience.

**Must Haves (requirements)**
- 10+ years in critical enterprise level systems design and development
- 10+ years’ experience in delivering transaction intensive cloud supported services in a commercial environment.
- 5+ years’ experience in the delivery of cloud based services and or the transition of cloud based services to on prem.

- Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills required to succeed leading multidisciplinary teams delivering powerful solutions to the ecosystem supported by the AJISS IDE.
- Proven problem solving and analytic skills with a track record of successful outcomes
- Recognized for ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and externally with customers.
- Strong business acumen and ability to identify and address issues within a complex business environment
- Capable of developing strong relationships across the business through excellent customer service

**Key Qualifications**

Technical/Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with enterprise solutions used within an in service support context is desirable

Language: French fluency would be an asset

- Be eligible to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods, Reliability and Secret, NAT
