**The Opportunity**

The Data Science Director will lead Manulife's global practice area passionate about producer misconduct and account takeover fraud. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in graph database-based fraud detection practices and a proven track record of leading data science initiatives that deliver significant business value.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data science strategy for fraud detection and prevention, focusing on producer misconduct and ATO practices.
- Lead a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers in the creation of predictive models and algorithms to identify and prevent fraudulent activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Customer Experience, and Operations, to integrate data science solutions into the business processes.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in fraud detection and data science, and implement standard methodologies within the team.
- Communicate sophisticated data-driven insights to non-technical partners to advise decision-making and strategy.
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects, from ideation to deployment and monitoring of models in production. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and data-driven decision-making within the team and the organization.

**What we are looking for**
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Physics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Experience in full stack data science, with a focus on fraud detection and prevention
- Consistent record of leading data science teams and delivering impactful analytical solutions.
- Experience with cloud analytics services, MLOps, and leading large-scale data science projects. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence partners at all levels.
