Drayton Entertainment is a registered, not-for-profit charitable organization and one of Canada's most successful professional theatre companies. We present the finest in live theatre for all ages at seven unique venues across Ontario: the Drayton Festival Theatre in Drayton, Huron Country Playhouse and Playhouse II in Grand Bend, King's Wharf Theatre in Penetanguishene, and St. Jacobs Country Playhouse and the Schoolhouse Theatre in St. Jacobs, and the Hamilton Family Theatre Cambridge.

**PRODUCTION ASSISTANT**

**Function** Entry level position to assist with the operation of all technical aspects of Theatre productions as assigned by the Technical Director

**Duties and Responsibilities **shall include but not be limited to:

- Assist all departments in all activities directly related to stage productions as required.
- Assist with the installation and strike of shows, as assigned including loading, unloading, and set up of theatrical scenery; hang and focus lighting fixtures and hanging of masking as required.
- Participate on running crew as assigned by the Technical Director, reporting to stage management during show calls.
- Assist stage management in rehearsal hall set-up.
- Assist in the carpentry shop under the supervision of the Head of Scenic Construction, when required.
- Organize and maintain storage of all backstage set pieces when running show.
- Assist with planned maintenance of production venues, when required.
- Assist, with speaker placements, cue lights and wiring on or attached to sets or props fabricated by the Theatre under the supervision of the specific department head, when required.
- The employee may be assigned duties by the Technical Director that are not defined in this position.

**Qualifications**
- Experience and knowledge of the above job duties usually acquired through the completion of a 3 year college diploma and 2 years of experience in a related field (or a similar combination of education and experience).
- The ability to consistently lift 20kgs
- The ability to work on ladders
- The ability to travel to remote locations
- Valid G drivers license
- Previous experience building scenery and operating a fly system would be considered an asset

**Additional Information**

This is a full-time position, based on 40 hours per week.

This position is an onsite position at the **Northfield Production Centre** in **Waterloo, ON**. Individuals required to work onsite must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with Drayton Entertainment’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Accommodations may be requested due to medical exemption.

**Anticipated Start Date**: September 16th, 2023.

**Salary**: $43,680 per year
