**POSITION TITLE**: General Manager

**REPORTS TO**: President

**LOCATION**:
Barrhaven Chrysler & Barrhaven Mazda - 510 & 520 Motor Works Private

**PURPOSE**: The General Manager is completely responsible for and will be held accountable for the successful operation of the entire dealership. They will develop and execute plans to ensure the dealership of a reasonable profit and fair return on their investments. The GM will accomplish all objectives through planning, motivating and coordinating the activities of all departments.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**:
1- Plan the dealership’s operations of the coming year.

2- Review and recommend improvements for each department manager

3- Ensure that every department operates harmoniously and profitably

4- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the factory and lending institutions.

5- Formulate and enforce policies and procedures for all programs and monitor effectiveness.

6- Ensure department managers are training and supervising for optimum effectiveness.

7- Oversee all dealership personnel functions, to include: interviewing, hiring, measuring and evaluating performance, recognizing accomplishments and opportunities for improvement

8- Review and approve the compensation plans for all employees.

9- Communicate policies and procedures and ensure that they are understood and followed.

10- Conduct managers’ meeting at scheduled intervals.

11- Develop merchandising strategies and assist in creating an effective, cost-efficient advertising program

**OTHER DUTIES**:
1- Resolve customer complaints that line management has not within 24 hours.

2- Forecast monthly with each salesperson to establish objectives in terms of the number and type of customers coming into the dealership, closing percentages in each category, time utilization, prospecting efforts, unit sales, and projected income.

3- Ensure that every prospect is thanked personally

4- Keep an accurate count of floor traffic.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
High school diploma or the equivalent. Degree or diploma preferred but not required.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.

At least 2 years in a General Sales Manager capacity

At least 5 years in Automotive Management capacity

Proven Track record to increase business and retain and train staff

Professional personal appearance.

Excellent communication skills in person, on the telephone, and in writing.

Valid OMVIC

Valid Drivers License
