NAIT’s Crane & Hoist Equipment Operator programs prepare students to operate any boom truck or mobile. As well as training them in advanced rigging practices for any load they may encounter as a crane operator.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting
- Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
- Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
- Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
- Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
- Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
- Respond to student issues
- Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
- Maintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
- Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT’s Strategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Plan as identified by the institute
- Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
- Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma
- Completion of Crane and Hoist Equipment Operator Alberta Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent required including Inter-Provincial Red Seal an asset
- Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket preferred
- Teaching experience an asset

**Remuneration**: Will commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Instructor salary grid $2,462.86 - $4,284.34 biweekly, however, starting salary for a new hire averages between $2,462.86 - 3,243.48 biweekly based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification - Instructor).
- This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement_
