**Communications Facilitator**

Food Matters Manitoba is seeking an entry level full-time Communications Facilitator, starting in January of 2024

**Responsibilities**:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Communications Facilitator will work with FMM staff to create, implement and execute a full communications and marketing strategy for Food Matters Manitoba

Related responsibilities include:

- Producing all FMM communications, and ensuring that these communications give voice to the communities that we serve, the impacts of our work and the stories of our journey in a way that is meaningful to the public, our partners and our stakeholders
- Creation of additional content such as a regular newsletter, short videos, interviews that capture community voices, promotional posters, and more
- Developing news stories, fielding and responding to relevant media requests, crafting newsworthy talking points, and maintaining relationships with media contacts
- Maintaining a contact database that includes donors and partners
- Supporting the Executive Director and Board of Directors Fund Development Committee in managing donor relations and promotional events
- Assisting with other work-related tasks as assigned

**About You**
- A go getter with social media savvy
- Excellent creative writing/communication skills
- Excellent graphic design skills
- Understanding of marketing concepts
- Work well, both independently and as part of a team
- Willing to learn
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
- Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications
- High level of computer knowledge, including MS Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Hootsuite
- Knowledge of, and interest in, food security is considered an asset
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is desirable
