We are multi-awarded for what we do, named top alternative lender in Canada 4 years in a row, and are opening a rewarding position for an applicant whose duties would directly support the ongoing success of our business. This role is heavily detail and customer relationship focused. Day-to-day duties in this role include communicating with brokers, underwriting deal submissions, and coordinating deal closings with our funding and law (legal) team. Success in this role would be measured by your underwriting ability, speed, quality of service to brokers, and overall attention to detail and organization.

**The Position**: We are looking for an experienced Full Time Mortgage Underwriter with a flexible start date to work in-office from our Toronto office. Hone your mortgage underwriting skills as you work with our team to underwrite the growing volume of deal submissions. Work priorities and volume will vary day-to-day but will mostly consist of regular responsibilities. **Responsibilities**:

- Liaise with mortgage brokers from the origination of the deal until closing.
- Work directly with Hosper’s funding team and Hosper’s partnered law firm to coordinate accurate deal closings.
- Review and adjudicate credit reports and appraisals and provide adequate solutions when required.
- Underwrite mortgage deals.
- Provide support to Hosper’s BDM (Business Development Manager).
- Quickly respond to a constant flow of deal submissions and aim to meet target closing dates.

**Beneficial Skills & Experience**:

- At least 3 years prior underwriting experience with B Lending or Private Mortgage Lending is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Holds (or willingness to obtain) an active mortgage agent license.
- Prior experience with Mortgage Automator, The Mortgage Office or Dolphin Loan Management Software is a bonus.
- A degree, diploma, or certificate in business administration, finance, or a relative field would be beneficial.
- High level of customer service, the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, organization, and attention to detail are all required skills.
- A positive attitude with the ability to maintain trust-based relationships will find long term success as our network grows.
- An affinity for technology, process improvement, and automation will set you up for success.
