**The Opportunity**
Reporting to the Human Resources and Operations Manager, the Human Resources Generalist provides technical expertise in the following key functional areas: recruitment and selection, onboarding and orientation, administering performance appraisal process, maintaining our HRIS, overseeing benefits and regular HR administration. The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with the HR team to promote a healthy workplace, fostering staff growth, connection, development, and engagement.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Human Resources Information System (HRIS)**_
- Ensure data is accurately entered and maintained on the system.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive personnel and payroll information is provided to Payroll department.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports and provide backup to payroll function on an as needed basis.
- **Recruitment and Selection**_
- Prepare job postings for internal and external distribution.
- Prepare employment contracts.
- Ensure all aspects of recruitment and selection processes comply with FST policy and relevant legislation.
- **Human Resources Administration**_
- Conduct and administer onboarding.
- Administer exit interview process.
- Maintain all HR records in Docushare.
- Ensure completion of Criminal Record Checks/Vulnerable Sector Checks
- **Benefits Administration**_
- Provide benefits orientation and ensure completion of forms for new employees within deadlines.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education; CHRP designation is an asset. Foreign experience is valued.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in human resources, labor relations experience is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and ethics.
- Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
- Demonstrated commitment to principles of social justice, anti-oppression, and equity and inclusion.
- Satisfactory criminal reference check with Vulnerable Sector Search completed within the past 12 months.
