Kennel Assistant

Is it your dream to work with animals ? A close knit family run Dog Kennel just East of Lindsay On, requires a part time employee for afternoon/evening work. Approx. 4-6 hours per day, 2-3 days a week, weekends availability required with some flexibility to cover other's sick days or emergencies. Our establishment has been raising dogs for over 30 years and we have a high standard of care. The successful applicant should have a firm grasp on the following skills.
- First and foremost, a gentle, kind nature with animals and the ability to positively reinforce positive behaviours while constructively discouraging inappropriate behaviours is very important We help teach this.
- Punctuality The animals really thrive on routine and like their schedule. This then means one needs reliable transportation as we are located in the country.
- Observations & Communication The animals can't talk so one must be super observant and communicate these observations
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Attention to detail and meticulous cleaning skills.
- Comfortable around small-large dogs and horses.
- Excellent listening skills and ability to follow a routine.
- Pleasant demeanour with clients.
- Honest and forthright.
- Clean Criminal Record
- Ability to work under the general stressors and organized chaos of boisterous, goofy, lovable animals.
- MUST be able to work as part of a dedicated team.
- Grooming skills and experience with horses are a bonus, but not necessary.

If contacted for an interview, please be aware that we conduct "working interviews" for which you are compensated. The interview will be an 8 hour day. A lunch and appropriate clothing and footwear are needed. Pay will somewhat be based on experience, but work ethic and dedication are the main influencers
