**PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES**

As a key member of the Armor Program Management Office, the Bid & Proposal Manager is responsible for creating and overseeing bids - a detailed, costed, persuasive proposal - on behalf of Galvion to gain a business contract. The Bid & Proposal Manager's role is to ensure that new bids are in adherence with strategy and profitability goals. The Bid & Proposal Manager will work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement proposals/bids, win strategies and tailor customer specifications and RFP/RFQs to target Galvion's Armor products for military and tactical operators worldwide. The Bid & Proposal Manager will work with internal and external stakeholders to grow customer awareness of our Armor solutions as well as the Galvion corporate product offering.

The individual in this position has financial acumen, is technically astute, detail-oriented, customer-centric and proactive. They are a collaborative and effective team player with sound intuition, superior communication skills, and a strong desire to get the right products, to the right people, at the right time.

**SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**People**:

- Work with internal partners to develop relationships with industry/technical partners to showcase Galvion's innovations, know-how and expertise and drive future RFP/RFQs to incorporate technical aspects unique to Galvion or that, at the very least, conforms to Galvion's existing platforms
- Work closely with the Director, Armor Product Management to refine product roadmaps based on the current market and future needs
- Focal point of all efforts to respond to bids and RFP/RFQ including coordinating with sales, business development, engineering, product management, operations, legal, technical partners, government officials and customer representatives

**Process**:

- Compile and provide competitive analysis of market trends and customer needs, and share relevant information with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Sales teams
- Support customer engagement initiatives (surveys, demos, tradeshows)
- Pre-tendering (when relevant)
- Co-ordinate internal activities to identify and understand Customer's needs
- Align customer specifications with standard product platforms
- Determine the complexity of the tender based on reliable information using compliance matrix
- Ensure offered solution compliance versus Customer requirements and internal product strategy; Identify deviations
- Lead activities in support of the appropriate stage gate process
- Create, Track and Manage the Bid budget according to Project Costs Authorization Process
- Analyze in detail the request for proposal (RFP) and define the bid operational strategy
- Propose the offered technical & cost solution
- Prepare the documentation necessary to submit to Customer
- Prepare the technical description of offered solution
- Prepare the technical clause by clause and/or list of derogations
- Participate and attend to the Customer negotiations
- During the negotiations, verify the feasibility of customer request versus the mandated offer
- Prepare risks & opportunities reviews
- Prepare the preliminary project master schedule
- In collaboration with other stakeholders, consolidate product costing and pricing
- Review of the final contract documents before contract signature
- Contribute to Return on Experience (REX) through the Win-Loss Analysis in liaison with Tender Leader and Market Pricing & Strategy
- Support Project Manager (PM) in First Project Review preparation
- May perform other duties as assigned

**Performance**:

- Optimize and initiate ongoing improvement of the Proposal process
- Manage bids & proposal within the allotted budgets and timelines
- Reduce Galvion's technical risk by properly identifying technical or manufacturing gaps between the proposal and the existing product/process
