Habitat is also fortunate to have one of the largest and most successful ReStore operations in Canada. The

ReStore is a social enterprise that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, and building materials.

Products are donated by businesses and households, and with three retail outlets, the ReStores are a large enterprise, contributing $1M annually to Habitat’s mission.

Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta was established in 1990 and now works in 13 communities across

Alberta, managing a portfolio of approximately 250 families, with a multi-million dollar construction and land development program. To date, Habitat has partnered with over 300 families, impacting the lives of more than 900 children.

Habitat is a complex organization with several different operating components to its whole, each bringing its own unique and connected set of challenges in support of our sustainable financial model: an affordable homeownership program, a land acquisition and construction program, a volunteer program, multiple fundraising programs, community relationship building and the ReStore retail outlets.

**Purpose**

The Project Coordinator is responsible for preparing detailed take-offs and estimates, issuing tenders and administrating contract awards, issuing job starts, maintaining cost control procedures, and invoice approvals. You will report to the Director of Construction and have the ability to prioritize, execute a diverse

array of services, and take direction from and work alongside the entire construction team in the building of multi-family residential homes.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Construction Team in all phases and aspects of the project.
- Prepare estimates, bids, and purchase orders for the projects.
- Organizes the solicitation of trades regarding bid invitations, pricing, addenda, and tender closings.
- Coordinate procurement of materials for various builds through local suppliers and gift in kind.
- Assist and help to create, coordinate, and maintain project budgets.
- Organize, file, and maintain all current project documents.
- Provide support to Field Staff by clarifying work details, scopes of work, and trades or trade search if needed.
- Provide support to the Management Team and Site Supervisor as required (i.e. Order materials, schedule deliveries, maintain communication between trades and consultants).
- Prepare scopes of work for repurchased properties and estimates for associated renovation work.

**Qualifications**
- Having a minimum of (2) years’ Residential Construction experience in the capacity of Project Co
- ordination, Supervision and/or Estimation.
- A post-secondary Diploma or Degree in a construction-related program.
- A functional understanding of building codes and construction processes.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- You are known to be proactive, organized, and operate with a sense of urgency.
- You have strong computer skills and an understanding of computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Project.
- Experience with QuickBooks would be an asset.
- Must possess a team-oriented approach regarding collaborating with various departments while meeting objectives.

The position requires access to a reliable vehicle and the ability to work regular business hours, with occasional evenings and weekends.
