**SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE**

The Expense Management Specialist, reporting to the Director Program Delivery and working directly with the, Senior Program Support Analyst (Finance) will be responsible for the overall management of the business case and benefits realization.
- The Specialist will be a key participant in monitoring client’s project costs and comparisons against business case expectations. A key responsibility will be to work closely with Project leadership to update the business case financial model, reflecting changes in project costs, ongoing operational costs and benefits/savings estimates. Ongoing program cost monitoring and savings will require regular and transparent reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Both operating expenses and detailed staffing budgets will have ongoing impacts which will be closely monitored by the Expense Management Specialist. Detailed reporting will be developed by the specialist for management, Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education**:

- Degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, commerce or a related field.
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)

**Experience**:

- Minimum of seven (7) years working in an analyst capacity with increasing levels of responsibility in an insurance industry.
- Recent experience creating and maintaining financial models.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience creating reports for various levels of corporate management.
- Ongoing interaction with and presentations/support to Senior Leadership

**Technical Knowledge and Skills**:

- Advanced knowledge of Information Technology sector including emerging trends such as software as a service and agile project management.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and deliver presentations that capture the right amount of detail to divisional leaders and members of the executive committee.
- Advanced interpersonal skills, with experience in developing and maintaining collaborative working relations and providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Advanced ability to quickly form relationships built on trust and respect.
- Advanced level analytical skills and ability to solve problems and find creative solutions that meet the needs of divisional leaders.
- Advanced ability to manage multiple tasks and a wide variety of priorities.
- Advanced analytical skills to simplify data and develop reporting with appropriate level of detail.
- Intermediate knowledge of Infor / Lawson financial system.
- Intermediate knowledge of accounting standards relating to insurance contracts and capitalization of intangible assets.
- Proven ability to adapt to, and effectively contribute to, rapid business transformation.
