The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

**SCAFFOLDER**
Scaffolder plays a critical role in supporting construction, maintenance and repair activities by erecting and dismantling scaffolding structures. The Scaffolder would ensure that scaffolds are built to industry safety standards and in compliance with site-specific requirements, facilitating efficient and safe operations within the mill.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Area 1**:
**Safely erect and dismantle scaffolding**:
- Assemble, install and dismantle scaffolding structures as required for maintenance and repair tasks within the mill.
- Ensure scaffolder is built to exact specifications, offering a secure platform for workers to access difficult or elevated areas.
- Follow strict safety protocols and industry standards when constructing and dismantling scaffolds, adhering to the company’s safety policies and local regulations.
- Conduct routine safety checks and regular inspections on erected scaffolders, ensuring they are stable, secure and fit for use before other personnel begin work.
- Maintain scaffolding materials, ensuring that they are in good condition, reporting any damage or wear to supervisors for timely replacement

- Watch for inefficiencies or problems.
- Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.
- Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost).
**Area 3**:
**Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability**:
- Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
- Mentor and train new team members.
- Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
- Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
- Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete.
- Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
Qualifications
**Qualifications & Skill Requirements**
**Minimum Qualifications, Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents**
- Post-secondary education in a related trade required.
- Certification or trade qualification an asset.
**Work Experience - Nature & Length**
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Scaffolder, preferably within an industrial or mining setting.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and standards.
**Additional Qualifications - Competency Requirements**
- Strong understanding of scaffolding materials, construction methods, and safety requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address issues related to scaffolding design, site conditions, and safety concerns.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications to erect scaffolds accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
