BE is a firm of Building Science Engineers that provides our clients with consulting services to aid them in the evaluation, repair and maintenance of their buildings and properties. Our founder, Paul Belanger, has over 25 years of experience in the investigation and repair of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Together, we are a team of building science engineers involved with building repair and performance improvement. Our experience with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering involves both new and restorative construction.

Our team will present options and recommendations for appropriate programs that consider the objectives of building owners and management. As a part of our team, you will convey to our clients that they are dealing with people who have the experience and qualifications to do the type of job they need, and to do it right. Building Science Specialist

Capabilities:
**Knowledge of construction systems and assemblies**
Interested in failure investigation, construction, and contract administration
**Familiarity with design codes for building envelope and building science**
**Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards**
Familiar with Occupational Health and Safety Act
**Good verbal and written skills, proficient in Word and Excel**
Capable of conducting site meetings
**Detail-oriented and effective time management skills**

**Responsibilities**:
**Provide support for Professional Engineers**
Assist with multiple projects
Conduct site visits and draft reports for Project Engineers review
**Assist with Preparation of technical audits and reserve fund studies**
Proposal preparation
**Conduct site assessments and keep records**
Schedule and attend site meetings and attend condominium board meetings
**Conduct investigations and prepare draft reports & recommendations**
Aid in the preparation of designs and specifications for review by engineering staff
**Submit administration reports, documents and billing data on a timely basis**
Increase project scope when appropriate
**Promote best practices to support company mission to junior staff**
Business development

Qualifications:
**C.E.T. Designation with OACETT is mandatory.**
**Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, building codes and their impact on project activities**
Results-oriented individual with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple competing priorities and timelines
Experience with, condition assessments, performance audits and repair planning involving building envelope, roof, parking garage, pools and many other building components is an asset
