Additionally, the Specialist Fund Development will use IWAVE to identify new donor prospects, including individuals, corporations, and other entities. Working alongside the Manager of Fundraising and VP of Organizational Development they will work to extend the YMCA’s reach to new individuals, corporations and networks through the development of compelling fundraising cultivation.

**Location and Working Hours**: 35 hours a week, Hybrid working arrangement (2-3 days/week in office) Office location, Peter Gilgan Family YMCA, 410 Rebecca Street, Oakville, Ontario.

- Annual salary $37,128 - $43,680 commensurate with experience.

**Responsibilities**:

- Identify opportunities for attracting new charitable gifts from both public and private resources.
- Complete and/or support other activities including identification and qualification, solicitation, writing, collecting support letters, preparing figures/diagrams, and creating grant budgets.
- Optimize the use of IWave to identify new individual, corporate, and foundation donor prospects.
- Verify research information for the philanthropy team.
- Assist in the development of Impact Reports and Y Stories that illustrate the impact on donors and the community.
- Assist in gathering and crafting YMCA Stories.
- Assist in identifying and recruiting sponsors for organization events and activities.
- Support stewardship activities for donors.
- Support donor cultivation, recognition, and stewardship events.
- Actively participate in planning and implementing fundraising activities and events such as online/monthly giving and annual events.
- Actively participate in fundraising activities such as face-to-face solicitations and outbound calls.

Essential Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or certification in related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years fundraising experience in a charitable or not-for-profit environment.
- Demonstrated excellence in writing skills, along with experience in working with Grants and/or Request for Proposals (RFP).
- Working knowledge of digital communication and social media.
- Experience with relationship management software, donor databases, and digital giving platforms.
- Displaying a high level of diplomacy, sensitivity, tact, sound judgment, and trustworthiness.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, project management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to customer service.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge of Donor Perfect, Canada Helps, Membership databases, is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Canada Revenue guidelines pertaining to fundraising and charitable gifts.
- Knowledge of privacy legislation regulations.
- Familiarity with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines for charitable tax receipting guidelines is considered an asset.
- Possession of CFRE designation.
