Role Purpose:

- Provides specialized knowledge and expertise to improve the productive capacity and integrity of the Tailings Impoundment Area (TIA). Is accountable that work is carried out in a safe, structured, agreed and timely manner. Ensures absolute compliance with legal requirement and company objectives to continuously improve their knowledge, skills and relationship interactions. Is responsible for identifying, escalating and managing impediments and developing issues to ensure delivery of work plans are achieved.
- We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.

Accountabilities:

- Safety, Health & Housekeeping_

Demonstrate absolute commitment and leadership in providing a safe and healthy working environment:

- Ensuring standard work procedures and safe systems of work are understood; enforcing compliance with the Canadian Dam Association, Mining Association of Canada (MAC) Guidelines, Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM), Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management (GISTM), and Newcrest Tailings Governance Policy and Tailings and Water Storage (Group Standard)
- Ensuring compliance with the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code (HSRC) for Mines in British Columbia for Permitting, Reclamation and Closure (10.1 to 10.6)
- Responsible for identifying and tracking legal requirements related to tailings and water management, ensures compliance for the construction of the TIA, reports and corrects non-compliances as appropriate and documents results of compliance audits and corrective actions concerning the TIA and tracks to completion.

- Developing, mentoring and coaching of construction team for a high standard of excellence

Demonstrate technical and conceptual excellence in anticipating problems and supporting the team and plans, to deliver agreed departmental and business goals to ensure the value of the business is maintained or improved:

- Leading the TIA Construction Team in the following disciplines: geotechnical, civil engineering, survey, borrow materials developing, access and haul roads and side slopes maintenance, laboratory testing, and operational dam construction planning and scheduling;
- Leading the TIA Construction Team to manage, plan, construct, and support to operate the site’s TIA in accordance with the design and performance objectives set by the Engineer of Record;
- Continuously seek out opportunities to improve / optimise the works program;
- Proactively communicate with other departments on site, including equipment maintenance, site services, drilling and blasting team for quarry development, environmental, social, health and safety;
- Being accountable and full responsible for all daily tailings construction management activities including those of the on-site dam construction contractor(s);
- Leading the Quality Control Plan during the dam construction seasons to ensure construction specification compliance per the tailings facility designs;
- Providing project leadership to implement, plan and manage the cyclone sand distribution system and the cyclone sand placement system in
