**1 ‑ Full Time ‑ MDRD Supervisor**

**Medical Device Reprocessing Department**

Under the general direction of the Manager ‑ MDRD, the Supervisor plans, organizes, directs and supervises the

daily activities of the Medical Device Reprocessing Department in accordance with the Occupational Health and

Safety Act, as well as other applicable legislation and Hospital and MDRD policies. He/she will be required to

efficiently operate the MDR Department in the absence of the Manager.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Education
- A degree or diploma in a related program or minimum Grade 12 education with 2 years healthcare or related

supervisory experience required
- Certificate from a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing Techniques Program and recertification as required

Experience
- At least 3‑5 years previous experience in medical device reprocessing functions is required
- Experience in supervisory functions is preferred

- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of Patient and Family Centred Care
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with manager, staff, physicians and external customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated
- Demonstrated ability to handle conflict, demanding circumstances and multiple priorities.

Knowledge
- Knowledge and competency in relevant regulations and legislation including the Canadian Standards for

Decontamination, Sterilization and Infection Control in Health Care Facilities
- Extensive knowledge surgical instrumentation, surgical case cart systems and medical device reprocessing

techniques
- Knowledge of hospital ordering systems, medical equipment and supplies

Salary Range: $38.815 to 45.664
