Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Temporary Full Time Clinical Educator to help support in the growth of professional development by developing, implementing and supporting continuous education to the staff at NGH.

Located in Simcoe, Ontario, **Norfolk General Hospital **provides exceptional healthcare to a municipality of approximately 69,000 people. Our area of focus provides a continuum of service throughout the life span of the people we serve including Emergency, Critical Care, Obstetrics, Medicine, Surgery, and Complex Continuing Care. Employing approximately 550 highly skilled and dedicated employees, Norfolk General Hospital is a full service, 106-bed hospital with 24/7 on-call coverage of Specialists in Surgery, Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, and Obstetrics as well as on-site 24-hour per day medical coverage. Positions may also provide support to the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home, an 80-bed long-term care facility as well as providing support to Holmes House a 12-bed rehabilitation facility.

Simcoe is less than one hour away from most major centres, including Hamilton and London, and only 90 minutes from the Greater Toronto Area. Situated in Norfolk County (Ontario’s South Coast), Simcoe is not far from Lake Erie and the 88 miles of shoreline that includes long stretches of sandy beach.

**About the Position**:
As a member of the Clinical Development team at Norfolk General Hospital, you will:

- Reports to the Manager of Clinical Development
- Models’ leadership and clinical expertise to support excellence in patient centered care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives in alignment with the organization strategic directions
- Advocate that College Legislation, regulations, evidence-based practice, maintaining professional practice standards are met
- Facilitate continuous learning and professional development through educating, coaching and mentoring of staff
- Provides educational to support ongoing staff development including:

- Organization and provision of clinical orientation and education throughout hospital
- Coordinate educational activities (ie: Clinical Skills Fair, mock drills)
- Develop goals and objectives to support evidence informed practice e.g. RNAO BPGs
- Demonstrate competence and compliance with best practices (e.g. Accreditation ROPs)
- Ability to assist in development of, conduct and evaluate an annual Education plan
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain current knowledge and competency and role-model continuous lifelong learning

**Position Qualifications**:

- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
- Master’s level University degree or in progress (preferred)
- CNA Certification in a nursing practice specialty e.g. CCNC, CMSN, CPNC, ENC (preferred)
- Completed RNAO Best Practice Champion Blended Learning Series or in progress
- Current in BCLS. ACLS, PALS, and/or NPR is an asset
- Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience is mandatory
- Experience in an adult education role preferred
- Experience as a preceptor of staff and/or students and development of new staff
- Completed mentorship/preceptor program
- Knowledge and skill in change management
- Ability to be strategic and innovative
- Ability to design, deliver and evaluate education programs
- Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills (Meditech, Microsoft)
- Ability to be self-directed in fast paced environment
- Excellent attendance record
- Excellent multi-tasking skills
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
- Excellent in project management
