**Position Overview**

The Social Media & Community Engagement Coordinator will work closely and under the supervision of the Director of Operations and Community Services to implement marketing initiatives across the NS & PEI Council. The position will be responsible for executing a result driven social media strategy, developing marketing materials, representing SJA at a variety of community/business events in NS & PEI and supporting other community outreach needs as required.

This position will be based in the St. John Ambulance Office in Dartmouth NS and be responsible for PEI and NS.

**Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)**
- Developing and implementing a marketing plan including social media campaigns, business campaigns, events, and SJA initiatives.
- Working with other members of the team, schedule and attend tradeshows and community events on behalf of SJA.
- Collect and collate marketing statistics.
- Develop social media, website and newsletter content.
- Developing marketing materials identified by the team
- Network with other organizations to ensure sustainability and growth of the community service programs.
- Develop media releases pertaining to SJA initiatives or events (i.e Award Ceremonies, New programs, Program Highlights, etc.)

**Job Requirements**
- Degree or diploma in marketing or related field.
- Superior communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Well-developed computer skills, Competency in Microsoft Office.
- Direct experience in using social media management tools and analytics.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Premier Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools.
- Ability to understand historical, current and future trends in the digital content and social media space.
- Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as an enthusiastic, dedicated self-starter, and to meet goals in a timely manner.
- Travel across NS & PEI.
- Evening and Weekend work on occasion.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract.
