**Marine Reinsurance Intern - Summer 2024**

In this position, the intern will gain exposure of working with a large professional reinsurers underwriting treaty and facultative business as part of a Global Practice (MR Marine RI). The intern will work with a team of production underwriters to learn how business is transacted and understand the basics of Marine risk evaluation.

**The Opportunity**

The Marine Reinsurance Intern will gain exposure to working with a large professional reinsurers underwriting treaty and facultative business as part of a Global Specialty Reinsurance (MR Marine Reinsurance) Team and MRUS Reinsurance Team. They will learn and understand the basics of how risk is evaluated in marine, while interacting with a team of production underwriters and learn how business is transacted.

**Responsibilities**:

- Under guidance of team work on updating MR Global Primary Marine Market Condition Survey for 2024.
- Intern will work directly with MRUS RD NA Marine Underwriting Team as directed.
- Support team working on analysis of changes in client portfolios.
- Work with team on update to rate and exposure / loss trend US Marine data.
- Gain an overview / introduction to treaty and facultative reinsurance and marine lines.

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to work well with team members on a semi-virtual basis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player, good interpersonal skills and personal accountability.
- Preferred Majors: Insurance, Risk management, Marine Transportation.
- Accepted Grade Levels: Rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior undergraduates
- Computer Skills: Word, Excel and Power-Point proficiency
- Intern role will be offered in a hybrid working environment. Office days will be in the NYC office.
